Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple July 17, 2007
The Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple at Srirangam, situated 6 km north of the city, is among the most revered shrines dedicated to Lord Vishnu in South India, and is the largest temple complex in the world. Shrouded in a haze of coconut palms away to the north, the temple is built on an island in the middle of the Kaveri and covers an area of 2.5 km². Enclosed by seven rectangular walled courtyards, this temple has 21 gopurams, the largest of which was completed in 1987 and measures 73 m in height. Srirangam is connected to the mainland by a bridge. The temple is replete with excellent carvings and numerous shrines dedicated to various gods.
Is it Necessary ? July 17, 2007
With Trichy coming up as one of the major destinations of IT parks, only after chennai, coimbatore and madurai and with highly non-appealing infrastructure is a water theme park necesssary here at trichy(Trichirapalli). With arterial roads in the city in pitiable conditions, ineffective traffic control, ineffecient authorities where the hell does the corporation get funds for the proposed project!! Being the geographical centre of the state, it doesn’t even have a well integrated bus terminus to handle the present capacity of inflow and outflow. With many infrastructure projects in pipeline the corporation should rather focus its funds on those rather on this non profitable venture(I would rather say). The authorities think of entertaining people with making them comfortable.

This day would rather be my last post during my vacation. …of my vacation. Successfully, with only 3 or 4 days left for my routine to start again, i have wasted my holidays to the possible extreme. Hope i would be missing my blogs at my college. I wish that i continue writing posts even after my college starts. Thank You for your continuous patronage
Our First Lunch Break! July 17, 2007
During the first few weeks since the first years are not allowed outside(Few weeks ….in the sense for the first week),we are usually ragged during our walk from the institute to our hostels in our lunch break.Since we have to cross the hell(Our senior hostel…Like a check post)we get caught whatever be the time we come.
The ragging doesn’t stop here.We had a follow a dress code(Look like guys working in MNCs)but without a tie.By now u should have imagined how would have we been looking.
